Tour Scrapbook
This
week was highlighted by another program with Indian Creek
and tours of an apple orchard, and - you guessed it - the
Indy 500 Motor Speedway!
But
the highest high of the week came while camping at the Indiana
State Fairgrounds. On our departure morning, Sharon, Laurie
& the kids met a group of young women cleaning the grounds'
flower beds. The kids jumped right into the dirt and flower
cleanup! They even put flower pedals in the ladies' hair.
This naturally lead to conversation about children and mothering.
It turned out that the women were on a prison work crew.
Many had to leave their children to serve their prison terms.
So, our kids were a refreshing reminder of hope to the ladies,
and Sharon & Laurie were able to pray with one of the
ladies and gave them a "Hold You, Mommy" cassette
for listening in their work van!
After
our final lap at Indy, we headed up to the Chicago area.
We
shared with a MOPS group in Libertyville and then for another
"Mom...and Loving It!" conference in Crown Point,
Indiana.
