Tour Scrapbook
Sunday, September 1
Leaving Wal-Mart, we headed into Colorado. But as we
got to Raton, NM, the Hilliard's bus started acting up again.
After letting it rest for a while, we prayed and headed
up the pass. And thankfully we crawled up the pass at 20
MPH but had no further buzzers/lights!
God's traveling mercies continued to us and we crept into
Estes Park, CO late that night. Looking back, we're glad
we went at night, or else we might not have chanced that
mountain road had we known what we were facing!
Monday,
September 2
While shopping in EP, Laurie and Charles bought a Christmas
ornament at a little shop. We spoke with the lady who personalized
the ornament for us and told her what 2MOMS is doing. It
turned out that she had lived in Whitesboro (our hometown!)
and had taught school with Pat.
A couple of days later we ate lunch with the lady, Faye
Lynn Anderson and her husband Jim. What gracious hosts they
were to us! Jim then toured us through the awesome YMCA
camp where he works.
Tuesday, September 3
While camping at an RV park in Loveland, we were blessed
to meet a fellow "bus nut", Clark Echols, who
gave us lots of advice especially about our hoss generators,
and best of all, a referral to a mechanic in Denver who
knows MCI buses!
Wednesday, September 4
We traveled back down to south Denver to Littleton and dry-docked
in the parking lot of Foothills Bible Church.
Thursday,
September 5
The Foothills MOPS group was such a blessing as our first
group in Colorado.... a sign of good things to come in this
great state!
We met new friends in Kris & Alec Cameron and Debbie
& Andrew James!
Friday, September 6
The Autrys and kids enjoyed the afternoon with the Camerons
and took a real bath in a full bathtub. Meanwhile, Laurie
and Charles purchased a digital camera while in Littleton,
so photos will now be easier to get on the website! (a good
reason for Charles' new toy!)
Saturday,
September 7
We headed to the Denver North campground to get ready for
the next week.
