January 2 - February 8 (back)

Sunday, February 2
We attended church this morning at Mariners Church in Irvine and agreed that God spoke to us through the message. We are finding that God meets our needs (sometimes through you… we are so appreciative!) and our quote recently has been "God will provide."

This morning, the sermon was "God will provide." Wow. He continued that if God doesn't provide the information you need to move, then don't move! This applies to plans we are making for the future of 2MOMS. Please pray for us as we pray for His direction concerning future recording and writing projects.

In order to save money, we have been staying less and less in RV parks and more and more in church parking lots. However, we still need to hook-up regularly and that usually means an RV park. Most of the time, that means we drive OUT of LA to a less expensive RV park, but this weekend, we stayed in Newport Beach at an RV resort!

In the afternoon, the kids made sand art and jewelry at craft time. Everyone went swimming in the resort pool, and later the Hilliards went biking on a bike/nature trail.

Monday, February 3
We left Davis with the Hilliards and took our turn on the bike trail. What a beautiful ride. The kids learned about the birds that migrate through coastal California each year. Sharon and Brittlea enjoyed watching the ducks fly close to the water before skidding in for a landing!

We left the RV park this afternoon and returned to Trinity Presbyterian in Santa Ana to park the buses tonight. Since we have only one event this week, we planned to spend some time at Disneyland! Several nice ladies at the Trinity MOPS group invited us to leave our kids and go have some fun. So we took the three younger kids to Miss Patti's house and took the older kids to see Mickey. We rode and rode the rides and adults and kids had a great time.

Tuesday, February 4
We left early this morning with ALL the kids for a few hours at Disneyland. (Did I mention we were able to get Southern California Annual Passes? They are cheaper and you can't go on Saturdays and holidays, but we can go any other time, even for a few hours. It has been fun.) Anyway, we were going to stay until 2:00 and had so much fun we stayed until almost 6:00! Again, we rode rides, took pictures with princesses and other characters, learned how bread and tortillas are made, and heard Abe Lincoln give the Gettysburg Address. Wow, what a day!

In the end, we moved the buses from Trinity to Ocean Hills Community Church in San Juan Capistrano in Southern Orange County. We are learning the highways and traffic patterns very well. You have to or you spend all your time on the road!

Wednesday, February 5
It is wonderful to wake up at work! Since we stay in the parking lot, we walk across to the church… cool! We were privileged to share with a large group of ladies today. Sharon and Laurie each heard many moms say that we were exactly what they needed to hear… It is such an honor and so humbling to be used by God in this way.

For some reason, this was our only event of the week. Looking at our calendar, we have three or four scheduled for most weeks this spring. We think God knew we needed a rest and time to regroup and refocus. We are so thankful.

We all went out to eat tonight and put the kids at one end of the table and the adults (and Davis) at the other so we could make plans for the next week or so. Planning time is difficult to find and we usually end up planning by walkie-talkie between buses after the kids have gone to bed so we were thankful for some face-to-face time and dinner was good until the kids were restless and ready to go!

Thursday, February 6
After a homeschool (or bus school) morning, the kids played all afternoon. At this RV park south of Corona, we are parked next to the playground!

We have been having some van trouble, so we used some of our time off to take it in for an estimate. We were able to get it partially repaired and had In-N-Out Burgers too. We had to borrow the Hilliard's van, so they biked just down the road to Tom's Farms for hamburgers.

Friday, February 7
The moms and kids made a trip to the library for school this morning and enjoyed a time of reading to the kids with no distractions. Quite a show was performed by Crislynn and Avery on their bench-stage outside. Sharon and Laurie had a late lunch with our friend Patti Anderson. It was a great "girls' day out." The kids played on the playground under the care of 2DADS. Later, the Autrys took a walk in the RV park and admired the beautiful view of all that God made here. We all had dinner on the buses. We are thankful every day for all the work you put in to help get these buses ready to go (you know who you are)! We finally got the kids to bed early and worked on 2MOMS' projects (email, etc.) tonight.

Saturday, February 8
We made plans for a few hours to work and play as couples today. Cindy and Dave Pook kept the kids while each couple had a date. While they were there, they walked along a trail behind the house to the park where they played and played! We are so thankful for Cindy and Dave, who have on two occasions now kept our kids for us. Being away from home, we don't have a sitter who will come in so we can have a date or a meeting, but we are thankful for people along our way who see our need (this one or any other) and meet it in a way that makes us thankful to God for His provision. God will provide!

Saturday evening we joined Dee Cajiuat and her family for dinner. Dee is a college friend of the Hilliards and her parents were missionaries in Yemen. Daniel Cajiuat, the father, worked in the hospital in Yemen where the Southern Baptist missionaries were shot. He encountered the shooter, but the Lord spared Daniel's life. Praise Him!
